Quickie post

Things here are super busy for a few days. I just wanted to jump on to say the purse party was KICK A$$! I got three purses (Chanel, D&G and a Coach) and didn't spend a dime ! Loved it! Meanwhile, I find out the purse lady lives like a half mile from my house. She said that she gets her shipments on Fridays, and I can stop by whenever! AWESOME! So there, freaking purse ladies from November trying to be the BE ALL END ALL of South Hills purse ladies! Screw you guys, I got my own purse lady, yo!

It was crazy at my sister in laws. There had to be at least fifty people coming through there, no kidding! Just about everyone who was invited came, and brought a friend! Exactly what I wanted, and why I didn't have to spend any money! I think we had a $2000 show! I am glad - worked out for me :)

So today, I busted my butt to get everything ready for my CCAC courses which start tonite and tomorrow night. I am ready for them to start, because I really this ! Tonite's class was great, and hopefully tomorrows will be just as good.

So tomorrow will be busy. Because in addition to a CCAC course starting, I am teaching third grade during the day! Should be fun! Luckily, nothing going on Wednesday and Thursday and I can get the housework caught up. I am hella -behind there!

I am also behind on my scrapping - in case you haven't noticed - its been a few days since I posted! Talk about an addiction! I think I am in a little withdrawl, and if I weren't so tired right now, I would totally stay up to do a layout!

Instead, I am hitting the hay! Above is Lauren blowing raspberries at you :)

Purse Party day!

So, the purse party is today and I couldn't be more excited. The only issue is that Mike is working a quick shift, so I have no help. Luckily, my father in law offered to keep Madelyn and my nephew James while Dawn (my sister in law) and I host the party. My other nephews are in New York with my brother in law skiing. James is still a bit too young to go on this trip, and in light of his being sick this week with the same stomach bug we had, she decided it was best for him to hang here in the 'Burgh.

So MJ and James will be next door for the afternoon, and I will have the little bug with me :)

I will post later and let you know how it went. In case you don't know, I love to entertain, but my house is simply too small to have a number of people over so we are having the shin-dig at my sister in laws (who lives about three blocks from me).

So, if you are keeping track... my in laws live NEXT DOOR and my sister in law lives THREE BLOCKS away. The truth is that it really isn't that bad living next door to my mother in law. In fact, it is kind of alot of help. They aren't nosey or pushy - but I do occassionally have a random irritation. That's for another post though.

So when the party has commenced, and I am home, I will blog and let you all know how it was. I remember one of my first blogs was about having a purse party, so I am sure you are on the edge of your seats ((sarcasm)) waiting to find out how it goes!!

I didn't get any scrapping done this weekend because I was cooking for the party, and getting ready for my CCAC courses to begin.

Both are going to roll, I have ten students in one class so far, and nine in the other. So, my Monday and Tuesday evenings are booked for awhile beginning this week. I am exciting to get back into that role! I really love teaching computers, and specifically to adults. It is challenging, yet rewarding ! I do think I am good at it, and have alot to offer my students. In that way, it's not like a job, because I enjoy it. But it does pay well.

Will post more later, gotta go get ready :)

Purse Party Part Deux

IT HAS BEEN SO SCHEDULED THAT ON SUNDAY, THE 17TH OF FEBRUARY AT 2PM, A PURSE PARTY WILL TAKE PLACE AT DAWN's.

I couldn't be more stoked, and it only took, what? THREE MONTHS! Well, I got caught up in Christmas, the holidays, the girls and all that jazz.

Anyway, this is really going to be nice because my sister in law will also be hosting a SPA party during that time too. So you can buy purses, eat, socialize, get a facial and all in one party. It would be a blast, and I couldn't be more excited!

Our characature from the Christmas party!!

I had to share the picture that was drawn of Maddie and I at the Christmas party on Saturday. Her little face is so adorable in it... and I think it really looks like her ! Me, well... I should have tipped the girl more! I wish that is what I looked like that early in the morning. on the Saturday after the biggest sha-bang surprise birthday bash! She made me look like a news anchor or some shit... but I ain't complainin!

WOW - or should I say WAW!

W hat A W eekend !

The party went off without a hitch! I can now blab that for a few months now my sister in law and I have been planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my father in law! He was shocked, and everyone came and it was amazing. We had his senior picture from high school put on the cake (which was awesome - whipped cream icing kicks ass in a big time way). The food was great (and there was enough, which was a worry of ours). People came who haven't seen my father in law in years, and he was just tickled.

I spent the last three weeks or so making a scrapbook of his life. It ended up being two entire 20 page books (plus a refill kit for the book - so, about 50 pages or so!) Everyone loved it, and I was so happy. I worked SO freakin hard on this thing for ENTIRE DAYS and filled ENTIRE WEEKS! It is so nice to feel like they understood the hard work, and thoughtfullness that went into. Truly, there aren't too many people I would do that for, my father in law is just one of them. He is just a hell of a guy, and there aren't too many words in the English dictionary that can describe him. You just have to know him. He, my mother in law and my sister in law loved the scrapbook so much, they cried- which made me feel great! That was the reaction I was looking for.

Today was the Mike's work Christmas party which is mostly for kids (but it is INCREDIBLE!)... I should mention that my father in law works there as well, so we went to this party even before Mike started there. Santa Claus comes and there are jugglers, clowns, magicians, balloon animal makers, face painters, spin art, mimes, marionettes... just about everything a kid could want to do ! For adults, they have a free chair massage on each floor of the building, so there is never more than one person in front of you. They have handwriting analysis, a craft show, an amazing lunch and characture artists . I just can't begin to describe it!

So, Maddie gets her first shot at Santa Claus, who she finally understands this year. He came around the corner, and her face just lit up like a Christmas tree and she screams "Merry Christmas!" So adorable. She sat on his lap, and said, "nice a meet you!". He asked her what she wanted for Christmas, and even though she is able to rattle off a list to me, she goes, "toys!". He said, "Oh, ok, anything in particular?" ... she says, "no... just toys". I cracked up, poor thing just froze. I imagined in my head A CHRISTMAS STORY where the kid just nods and says 'Yea, a football" when he really wants the bb gun! Thank goodness there was no slide!

I will post some more pictures tomorrow. But here are a few of my favorites from the weekend!

Purse party

Last weekend, I told Becky I would go with her to a Pampered Chef party. I do love their stuff, but the primary reason I agreed to go is because I have, over the years, drug her everywhere when I didn't want to go alone. Needless to say, I had to return the favor to her even though I really didn't feel like going.

To be honest, when it comes to going anywhere anymore... I usually don't feel like going. It's not the going though... it's the getting ready and getting there. I always have a good time once I get there! AH, but I digress!

So, we had a great time at the Pampered Chef party. I even talked Becky into booking one so that I can get all the stuff I want! I would rather she (or I) get the credits for it, if you KWIM?

This lady comes in and says that two doors up is a purse party. I have heard the term 'purse party' before, but was never in attendance at one yet! Basically, its a shitload of knockoffs (RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!) so I am putting my shoes on, with the quickness... to run up there and book a purse party! The scoop is that these ladies drive to NYC and buy them, bring them back here mark them up $10-15 bucks a piece and sell them at parties.

When I get there, I told the two ladies having the party that I had no cash on me (they only take cash), but that I wanted to book a party. She says thats great and to check out her stuff. Man, she had everything from Chanel, D&B, Coach, Kate Spade, Prada... you freakin name it. Bags, wallets, umbrellas.... everything! All between $20-80 bucks! I am thinking, this is a dream! JACKPOT!

I was sooo stoked that I was booking this thing! So, I head to the kitchen to give them my contact info. There were two ladies having the party. I don't know I guess they work as a team or something.... who knows.

I start to give them my information, the one lady was like ok, but I am not sure where that is. The other lady, didn't even listen and said "Nope, thats too far! We try to stay in the South Hills"... well, I live in the South Hills... so I tell her this. She then says, "Well, we don't like to go much past Peters Township"... so again I said, "My township is attached to Peters!" But she seems like stubborn, and not wanting my business. I am getting pissed. I asked if they lived around the area where the pampered chef party was held. They said that, get this, they live in VIRGINIA! So, you will drive to NYC for the freakin purses, you will drive to Findleyville to give the party... but you won't drive to my township? Getting even more pissed!

So, finally I say to her... "You know what, how about I give you my information, you google me, and let me know!".

When I got home, I was still burning with anger. Mostly because I wanted the freakin purses, but also because they would seriously made a boatload of money from me and my friends and family! Their loss, but I still have no purse ladies! So my loss too!!!

I called my sister in law, because somewhere in my memory, I remember hearing her talk about a purse party. I don't know why, I just assumed we were talking big money ones though. She checked it out and she knows someone who has a purse lady!!! Her prices are comparable as well!

So, screw you PURSE PARTY NAZIs! I got my own freakin purse lady. Hell, I might even become a freakin purse lady, so you can kiss the ENTIRE SOUTH HILLS AREA GOODBYE!

Ahhh, I feel so much better after having gotten that out!
